Bonner - Pride Balloon Arch

Start with about 420 balloons and a tank of helium.  This will be:

  • One way to get a cheap flight to downtown Tacoma
  • The best squeaky-voice water balloon fight ever
  • A surprise your cheating partner will never forget when he opens the door
    or
  • A balloon arch soaring high above the stage at the Kitsap Pride Celebration

With Bonner and Jessica busy at work, 420-some balloons, a tank of helium and about 3½  hours of effort became the glorious arch soaring  over the stage at the Pride Celebration!  The photo below shows the stage and Pride Flag backdrop surrounded by the arch.

You may recognize Bonner as one of the tireless volunteers at many of our events.  When he's not helping out at an event, he's often participating.

Please give Bonner and Jessica a hearty well done when you see them.

Stan Hess - Curator, Aurora Valentinetti Puppet Museum

You've probably seen Stan helping out at bingo and many other events or at OUTKitsap board meetings. He's also active in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, a welcoming congregation who hosts gay bingo and many other programs in support of our community.

When he's not volunteering at one of many events in our community, you can often find him at the Aurora Valentinetti Puppet Museum in downtown Bremerton on Fourth Street. There's a wonderful description of the museum in Jean Boyle's blog on the SeattlePI.com website, from which the picture at left was plagiarized. The Puppet Museum is part of the Evergreen Children's Theatre, which puts on many shows, workshops and events for kids. Be sure to check their schedule for fun-filled and education events for your kids.

Be sure to say hello to Stan when you see him!

You may have seen the Roller Vixens at Kitsap Pride 2007 or at many of the parades and festivals in the area.  Check out the pictures on their web pages.  I'm sure once you've seen their pictures, you won't be giving them any guff!  Their web page is under construction, so have a look at  MySpace page for more information.  Make sure you see The Basic Chick Fight pictures on the MySpace page and can locate Slaughter County.  Check out their schedule to see the action!
